aQuellé celebrates 25 years by spreading more joy

Joy shared is joy doubled! South Africa’s favourite water brand aQuellé has been refreshing the nation with natural spring water and flavoured drinks for 25 years. To mark the occasion, aQuellé is spreading more joy by installing 25 water tanks to 25 needy communities across South Africa that have limited access to safe drinking water.

A water tank was installed at Aldinville Primary School in KwaDukuza, KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday, 30 July 2024. Each of the 25 donated water tanks holds 5,000 litres of water and is equipped with a tap, providing a sustainable source of water for community members and school children. "This day is the best day ever in the history of our school. We asked aQuellé for help, and today they have brought us a very large water tank," said Thulani Khumalo, principal of Aldinville Primary School. "The school will never have to close again because of water shortage. We now have a water tank that we can fill, and the learners can continue with their studies as normal."

The initiative is in line with aQuellé’s mission of spreading real joy. "We are thrilled to celebrate 25 years at aQuellé and look forward to delivering more water tanks to communities in need," said Nokukhanya Memela, who was part of the aQuellé team on the day. " aQuellé is there to always share joy! We hope that the children will also learn to look out for their communities and those who need help."

Two more water tanks were installed in Khayelitsha, the Cape’s vibrant township on 21 November 2024. Nomonde Educare Centre, Makhaza received one tank, while the second tank was installed in Covid in Mfuleni, Section 1. The residents’ joy was summarised by community leader Nomvelwano Daka, “Thank you to aQuellé for the water tank. We now have clean and safe drinking water for our community, which will prevent the spread of diseases among our children. We have new hope.”

Gladson Songelwa of aQuellé said, “Safe drinking water is scarce in many South African communities. Constant challenges such as droughts and floods have made regular water supply systems unreliable. aQuellé exists to make a difference in people’s lives and we have installed water tanks in communities across South Africa. The two tanks in Khayelitsha will provide a safe source of water for hundreds of people.”

More water tanks have been installed across the country in needy communities. The initiative is in line with aQuellé’s mission of spreading real joy. “It is God’s grace that we have reached 25 years,” said Michael Ngubane, director of aQuellé. “We are grateful that we can celebrate by reaching out to people in need and bringing them hope for the future. This is our vision, and we will continue uplifting people and spreading more joy.”
